Pool Opening & Closing Customer Preparation Check List
All pool openings & closings require the applicable contract & deposits be completed as well as all previous balances on account to be paid in full prior to services being performed at your residence.
There is no specific time frame or order of arrival for our technicians for pool openings or closings.
Customers are not required to be present at the time of the pool’s opening or closing service.
Pool Openings
Inground Pool Full Pool Opening:
(Any opening where Aqua Pool is taking off the pool cover)
- Please have pool cover drained of water.
- Place a garden hose under cover and fill the pool to proper level(halfway up the skimmer opening in the pool)
- (There will be a charge of $89.00 if technicians need to return to start up the pool due to improper water level)
- Have pool equipment available. (Skimmer baskets, Ladders, Handrails, Return Fittings)
- There will be an extra charge if cover needs to be pumped off at the time of our arrival (Minimum $100.00)
Inground Pool Partial Pool Opening:
(Any pool opening where customer is removing the pool cover prior to our arrival)
- Please have cover removed from the pool prior to our arrival
- Please fill the pool to proper level. (halfway up the skimmer opening in the pool)
- (There will be a charge of $89.00 if technicians need to return to start up the pool due to improper water level)
- Have pool equipment available. (Skimmer baskets, Ladders, Handrails, Return Fittings)
Above Ground Pool Full Pool Opening:
(Any above ground pool opening where Aqua Pool is taking off the pool cover)
- Please have pool cover drained of water.

POOL CLOSINGS
Inground or Above Ground Full Pool Closing:
(Any closing where Aqua Pool is pulling on the pool cover)
- Please have winterizing plugs & equipment ready. (This includes having a cover pump, extension cord & garden hose available for the technicians for installation)
- Please have the pool chemistry adjusted properly
- Water level of the pool must be lowered 1 to 2 inches below the pool skimmer unless one of the exceptions below should apply.
- If the pool has a vinyl liner with an Aquador on the skimmers there is no need to lower the water.
- If Aqua Pool is installing a new custom cover purchased from Aqua Pool, please do not lower the water.
- If none of the exceptions apply there is a $50.00 charge for the technicians to lower the water at the time of the pool closing.
Inground or Above Ground Partial Pool Closing:
(Any pool closing where the customer is putting on the pool cover & Aqua Pool is winterizing the pool lines and filter equipment)
- Please have winterizing plugs & equipment ready.
- Please have the pool chemistry adjusted properly
- Water level of the pool must be lowered 1 to 2 inches below the pool skimmer unless one of the exceptions below should apply.
- If the pool has a vinyl liner with an Aquador on the skimmers there is no need to lower the water.
- If none of the exceptions apply there is a $50.00 charge for the technicians to lower the water at the time of the pool closing.
Inground Pool Blow & Plug of the pool lines only:
(Any pool closing where the customer is putting on the pool cover, & winterizing filter equipment. Aqua Pool is blowing out the pool lines)
- Please have winterizing plugs & equipment ready. (This includes having the skimmer baskets and return fittings removed prior to our arrival & the pool filter & pump(s) drained of water.) There is a $30.00 charge if the technicians need to remove the baskets or fittings at time of closing to blow out the pool lines.
- Please have the pool chemistry adjusted properly
- Water level of the pool must be lowered 1 to 2 inches below the pool skimmer unless one of the exceptions below should apply.
- If the pool has a vinyl liner with an Aquador on the skimmers there is no need to lower the water.
- If none of the exceptions apply there is a $50.00 charge for the technicians to lower the water at the time of the pool closing.
